Established in 2012, the Special Operations Unit was created to unify the department’s specialized divisions. Its mission is to provide critical support to both the Uniform Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions. The unit encompasses the K-9 Division, Parks Patrol Officers, and Narcotics Investigations. Each officer assigned to Special Operations receives advanced, role-specific training to ensure the highest level of service and safety for our community.

Lieutenant Jason Larocque serves as the commander of the Special Operations Unit for the Acworth Police Department. Lieutenant Larocque has dedicated over 20 years of service to the Acworth Police Department and has held a variety of key roles throughout his career. His experience includes serving as a K-9 Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Training Division Lieutenant, and other Special Operations assignments.
