On August 25, 2025, Detectives with the Acworth Police Department received a call from a New Jersey resident regarding his elderly father falling victim to an online scam.  The victim informed Detectives that he had sent a large amount of US currency to an address in Acworth.  Our Detectives, along with the help of the United States Post Office worked quickly to interceptthis large sum of money and ensure it was safely returned to the victim.  The Acworth Police Department emphasizes the importance of safeguarding your personal information and financial assets. Please be reminded to never send money or disclose sensitive personal details to individuals with whom you are not personally acquainted or whose identity cannot be verified.

The Acworth Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to work this case.
