On July 9, 2025, Officers with the Acworth Police Department responded to a report of fraud at
the police department. The owner of the Dairy Queen located on Cowan Road, reported fraudulent
activity carried out by two former partners and managers.

The suspects, identified as Sherif Mousa and Sherif Awad, who both served as managers, are
accused of diverting company funds and creating false payroll entries to personally profit from the
restaurant.

Between June 2024 and October 2024, the suspects redirected approximately $27,000 in Dairy
Queen earnings by using an unauthorized payment processing terminal linked to a bank account
they controlled.

During an audit, another manager discovered a separate payroll fraud, in which the suspects used
the identity of a former employee to generate fraudulent payroll entries. This resulted in fraudulent
paychecks totaling more than $17,000.
