Major Michael Taylor serves as the Major of the Acworth Police Department, bringing over 24 years of dedicated service to the agency. Throughout his career, he has worked in every division of the department, including Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and Special Operations, and has held leadership roles as Division Commander and Administrative Captain before his promotion to Major.

Major Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session 277). He also completed the Columbus State University Professional Management Program and the International Association of Chiefs of Police Leadership in Police Organizations program.

As second-in-command, Major Taylor oversees the day-to-day operations of the department, including administration, strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational development. He is committed to innovation, accountability, and community engagement while preparing the next generation of leaders through mentorship and succession planning.
