The Acworth Police Department will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in a nationwide initiative to prevent prescription pill abuse and theft. The Acworth Police Department and the DEA will be collecting potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction on Saturday, April 27, 2024. The campaign will run from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

The Acworth Police Department will have two collection locations on this date:

Wal Mart – 3826 Cobb Parkway, Acworth, Georgia 30101

Acworth Police Department – 4440 Acworth Industrial Drive, Acworth, Georgia 30101.

Disposing of unused medication will cut down the risk of prescription drug abuse and accidental poisonings or overdoses due to these drugs remaining in an unsecured state.

We cannot and will not accept needles/sharps, syringes, thermometers, IV bags, bloody or infectious waste, personal care products, empty containers, inhalers, and/or medical equipment.

In addition to the National Drug Take Back Day, we would like to remind everyone that you can dispose of medication 24/7 at the Acworth Police Department.
