On December 18, 2023, Officers with the Acworth Police Department responded to Celebration Village, located at 4460 Celebration Boulevard in reference to suspicious activity on resident’s financial accounts. It was originally suspected that staff members may have been suspected of entering rooms to steal debit or credit cards. This case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division. It was discovered that an unknown female who is not employed with Celebration Village entered the business wearing scrubs, similar to what current staff members may wear. The suspect was seen on video checking resident’s doors and entering unlocked rooms. The suspect was later located on Wal- Mart surveillance cameras using victim’s debit and credit cards.
The suspect is described as a black female with dark hair. The suspect frequently wears face coverings in an attempt to conceal her face from recognition. The suspect is also known to drive a white Toyota Corolla with temporary plates.
It is suspected there may be more victims in this case. Detectives urge residents of assisted living facilities to check financial statements and report any fraudulent activities.
